Class Descriptions

Level 1  Reformer Class

 Here is where you start, come and learn the basics of both the Pilates principles, and the reformer. It’s here where we get to know you too! We really do pride ourselves on our individual, small group philosophy of knowing all our clients and how your body moves. A few weeks at this level of class are the building blocks for moving into our other levels of class.

Level 2 Reformer Class

This is where we build on the foundations, introduce you to a broader range of exercises that will challenge your co-ordination and control of the reformer.  Learning through proprioception and repetition in a mid-spaced class suitable for all abilities. We will introduce you to small studio Pilates equipment on the reformer.  We are always looking to build your confidence to do the exercises but in also helping you realise your body’s getting stronger too.

Level 2/Tower Hour Class

The tower is seen as the natural progression from the reformer as you challenge your stability and individual limb strength/stability on separate arm or leg springs. The Tower is a very versatile piece of equipment offering yet more variety to your workouts. Your next step is the fluffy straps on the Cadillac!!!!  suitable for Level 2 clients +

Level 3 Reformer Class

You’ve been a regular at our level 2 classes for a while and you’re looking to challenge yourself a little further. These classes are a faster paced class for those feeling confident on the kit.  Now that you’re feeling stronger, we need to keep challenging you to progress or introduce a cardiovascular element to the sessions too.

Studio Class

This style of class is as Joe Pilates originally taught it within the studio setting using all pieces of Pilates equipment, you will be using the Reformer, the Tower and the Chair, working at your own pace with a set list of exercises to accomplish overtime, making this session your own.

Experienced Pilates people can enhance their skills and knowledge further you will certainly be challenged, with beginners learning all aspects of the studio equipment over time.

The instructor will keep their eye on you, coaching and nurturing you to bring about the change you need within your body.  You will become familiar with many exercises across all these pieces of equipment each one bringing something different to the party and therefore something different to you.

Classical Class

When Joseph Pilates created his method, it was based on set moves done in a set sequence. His belief was that with repetition you will get better naturally. Expect to work with heavier springs and work at a pace. Helen has attended specialist training to achieve her qualification so therefore this is a unique class in the Northamptonshire area.

Jumpboard Interval Session

Everyone welcome except beginners. This is a faster paced class, calorie burning due to the interval training. Focus on Endurance and Stamina

Pilates Circuits Class 

A really fun group class for our Level 2 clients looking to build endurance and get moving to burn those calories. Under a timed environment consisting of both Pilates strength and cardio-vascular moves we move around the apparatus in both studios supervised at all times by your instructor. Suitable for all abilities and able-bodied clients. Regular hand sanitiser stops too

Pinches Antenatal Pilates Class
