Step inside The Old Dairy

Tucked into the courtyard of Lamport Manor in the Northamptonshire countryside, The Old Dairy is a small, light-filled reformer and apparatus studio, built around calm, expert, physiotherapy-led movement rather than the crowd and the clock.

Why we work this way

We don't believe in mindless movement. Every class is designed to help you move with more control, more confidence and less tension, in small groups of no more than four, so you're genuinely seen and supported.

Our instructors are APPI-qualified and classically trained, with real depth across rehab, pregnancy, pelvic floor, menopause and performance.

How The Old Dairy began

The Old Dairy grew out of more than fifteen years of teaching, and a simple conviction: that expert, physiotherapy-led movement should feel personal, unhurried and genuinely kind to the body. Too many studios had become busy and impersonal, and we wanted the opposite.

Five years on, in this quiet courtyard at Lamport, that is exactly what we have built: a small studio where you are known by name, your instructor understands your history, and every class is shaped around the person on the reformer.

What to expect

1Start with a one-to-one

Everyone begins with a relaxed introductory session, just you and your instructor. We learn how you move, talk through anything you would like us to know, and set you up so your very first class feels familiar.

2Join a small class

From there you join a class of no more than four. There is room to be seen, adjusted and encouraged, whatever your level, with every exercise adapted to your body on the day.

3Find your rhythm

Real change comes from turning up. Most members hold a standing weekly slot, the same class at the same time, so the habit looks after itself and your strength keeps building.

Our corner of the countryside

You'll find us at Lamport Manor (NN6 9HF), just off the A508 between Northampton and Market Harborough, with free parking right at the door. It's an easy drive from across Northamptonshire, Brixworth, Kettering, Market Harborough and into neighbouring NN14.

Honestly, the setting is half the therapy: quiet countryside, birdsong and space to breathe before you've even stepped onto the reformer.

A fully equipped studio

The studio runs on professional, industry-standard equipment, reformers, the Cadillac, the tower and jumpboard, and the specialist apparatus that partners them. In every class it's woven into your session so seamlessly that you'll barely notice you're using it, you'll simply feel it working. And because much of that same equipment is every bit as effective at home, a good deal of it is available to take with you.

Whatever your level, you get to use all of it. We don’t split our timetable into separate ‘tower’, ‘cadillac’ or ‘chair’ classes, and you’re never limited to one piece of kit, every class draws on the whole studio. Your instructor simply chooses the right apparatus, and adapts each exercise, to suit your body and where you are that day.

A first-timer and a seasoned mover might work on the very same reformer, chair or barrel in one class, just in completely different ways. It’s Pilates as one connected system, tailored to you, rather than a menu of levels or machines.

Who we help

Reformer Pilates meets you wherever you are. These are some of the people we work with most, each with an approach shaped gently around them.
